ZOOM Frequently asked questions
What do I do if I hear feedback or echos in the audio?
I will start the class with everyone un-muted so we can have a few minutes to chat. When everyone is un-muted, the participant making the loudest sounds will be what everyone hears so we cannot all talk at once. Once the instruction begins, I will mute everyone except me so I am the only person you hear talking.
How do I change my Zoom view so I am seeing the teacher?
After we chat at the beginning of class, I will "spotlight" my video feed so you will only see me and not everyone else in the class. This also means you do not have to worry about being "seen" by everyone else in class.
Can I ask questions during class?
No, once class starts, I will mute your microphone until the end of class. This also means that I cannot help troubleshoot your Zoom feed while we are in class. However, if something is happening (like my sound is not coming through, you can un-mute yourself and say something while I am teaching.
If you need extra help with setting up your zoom, make an appointment with me and we can try to get it set up.
My internet is not working very well, can I still participate?
For those of you with slow internet at home, turn off your video camera within Zoom, this will decrease the burden on your WiFi. And if that does not work, turn off the video from the teacher and just use the audio feed. Sometimes the teacher's internet has hiccups, if the feed of the class suddenly stops, simply wait and it will resume within a few minutes.
