As we transition from the heat and activity of summer to the shorter days of fall, life often presents transitions that can leave us feeling ungrounded. In this 10-week course, you will learn functional and adaptive yoga to help you establish consistent home practice. Explore four variations of the traditional Sun Salutation sequence (reclining, seated, kneeling, and standing) to enhance your strength, alignment, and balance. Expand your repertoire of subtle mental-emotional tools with emotional processing techniques, confidence-boosting practices, mudras to ease transitions, and pranayama to integrate the mind and body. Throughout this course, we will examine the kleshas, the obstacles to spiritual development outlined in the Yoga Sutras, and learn how they manifest in our lives, hindering our journey toward wholeness and self-acceptance. Homework will include Yoga Nidra meditations focused on the kleshas, addressing self-knowledge (avidya), managing the ego (asmita), understanding attraction (raga) and aversion (dvesha), and conquering fear (abhinidvesha).
