Curl middle, ring and little fingers into the palms, touch the tips of the thumb and index fingers to create circles, then interlock them inside of each other. 

Agni Mudra
Seal of the Fire God
​​

Right Hand: Bend middle joint of ring finger at 90 degrees and hold hand in front of shoulder with palm facing forward.
Left Hand: Curl your ring finger into the center of your palm while extending the other fingers, palm faces upwards

Agnaraka Mudra
Seal of Mars
​​

Right Hand: Make a fist with the thumb touching the back of the ring finger knuckle
Left Hand: Touch the tips of the middle, ring, and little fingers onto the pad of the thumb.

Arala Mudra
Seal of the Crooked/Bent
​​

Hold hand with palm facing forward all fingers gathered alongside each other with middle joint of index finger bent at a right angle.

Archaka Mudra
Seal of Worshipping
​​

Touch pads of all fingers together (thumb to thumb, etc.) spreading fingers wide apart and keeping fingers extended.
Benefits:
  • Improves concentration
  • Calms nervous system
  • Balances left and right hemispheres of the brain

Ardhachandra Mudra
Seal of Half Moon
​​

Hold hand with palm flat and facing forward, fingers active. Reach thumb out at a right angle
Denotes:
  • The moon on the eighth day of its waning cycle

Ardhamukula Mudra
Seal of the Cat
​​

Curl index, middle and little fingers into the palm, touch tips of ring finger and thumb together.

Ardhapataka Mudra
Seal of the Half Flag
​​

Hold hand with palm facing forward, thumb tucked beside base of index finger, middle joint of ring and little fingers bent at a right angle. 

Ardharechita Mudra
Seal of the Half Contraction of the Eyebrow
​​

Curl index, middle and ring fingers into base of thumb, hold down with thumb and extend pinkie finger outward.
Right Hand: Hold hand palm facing upwards
Left Hand: Hold hand palm facing downwards

Ardhasuchi Mudra
Seal of the Half Sprout
​​

Curl middle, ring and pinkie fingers into center of palm, extend index finger and tuck thumb into base of index finger

Avahita Mudra
Seal of Holding
​​

Turn palms upwards with fingers stretched apart with little finger toward side of palm and other fingers fanned out evenly away from each other. Hold hands with palms facing up and right wrist crossed over the left.  
Denotes:
  • Graceful elegance
  • Yearning for the beloved

Badha Mudra
Seal of Suffering
​​

Clasp hands with fingers together, left hand facing upwards and right hand facing downwards.
Denotes:
  • Suffering
  • Plea for help

Baka Mudra
Seal of the Crane
​​

Hold hand with palm facing outward touching tips of index finger and thumb together, bend middle joint of pinkie finger at a right angle.
Denotes:
  • Cranes and other birds

Bana Mudra
Seal of the Arrow
​​

Cover index, middle and ring finger nails with pad of thumb, extend the pinkie finger and hold palm facing downwards.

Bhartri Mudra
Seal of the Husband
​​

Right Hand: Touch pad of index finger to pad of thumb, extend all other fingers, fanning them out. Hold hand with palm facing outwards
Left Hand: Curl fingers into a fist with thumb facing upwards, hand held in front of throat.

Bhartri Bhratri Mudra
Seal of the Brother-in-law

Right Hand: Curl fingers into a fist with thumb facing upwards, hold hand with palm facing chest.
Left Hand: Touch the tips of thumb, ring and pinkie fingers together, extending index and middle fingers away from each other. Hold palm facing forward.

Bherunda Mudra
Seal of the Two Birds

Curl middle, ring and pinkie fingers into center of palms, press tip of thumb into pad of index finger. Hold hands in front of chest with inner wrists touching.

Brahma Mudra II
Seal of the the God of Creation

Right Hand: Touch pads of index finger and thumb together, extend all other fingers fanning them out. Hold palm facing forwards in front of chest. Hold hand at heart with palm facing forward.
Left Hand: Touch thumb to base of ring finger and bend base joints of index, middle and pinkie fingers at a right angle, keeping the rest of the fingers straight and together, extend pinkie finger. Hold hand at waist with palm facing upwards 
Symbolizes: Writing in a book, the act of creation

Budha  Mudra
Seal of Mercury

Right Hand: Hold hand with fingers closed and palm facing forward
Left Hand: Make a fist with thumb extended, hold hand with palm facing body.


Cancuka Mudra
Seal of the Bird Beak

Place palms together in front of face, interlace thumbs, ring and pinkie fingers keeping index and middle fingers pressed together. 

Chakra Mudra III
Seal of the Wheel

Hold both hands with palms open and fingers extended together and thumbs at a right angle. Press palms together; right palm facing forward, fingers pointing up; left palm faces inward, fingers pointing to right.

Chakravaka Mudra
Seal of the Two Birds

Hold both hands with palms open and facing outwards, fingers fanned apart.
